And they were singin'
Bye Bye little R...I.
No more red seaweed...no it's not red tide.
These good ole girls are singing
Del's and Dunkin and Chai
Saying this will be the day that I fry
without the cool ocean breezes of RI.
So..whaddaya think? Do I have a future as a songwriter or a poet or what??!!!
I know, I know..it's an or what. But, I just couldn't let our passing from the state of RI (for perhaps the very last time) go by without some sort of lame, songy/poemy tribute. So there ya go.
And, so I bid a fond farewell to the state where I grew up, the state where I went to college and the state where I spent 5 years of my adult life. Cheesey as it sounds, I'll always consider myself a Rhode Islandah!
A classic song with a twist, lol!

You're leaving and I'm moving back! I wish you and your family safe travels and great new beginnings!
ReplyDeleteLove!! Good luck with the move.
ReplyDeleteNot crazy at all; we moved when I was 4 1/2 but as the state where my dad grew up, my parents met and married and where I was born ~ I too consider myself a Rhode Islandah!
God bless the path before you!
ReplyDeleteCatching up on my blog reading :). Praying for you and your move! And I think song writing is in your future. :)
